Oil emulsion gauze dressing consists of a non-adherent gauze mesh impregnated with white petrolatum in an oil emulsion blend. The dressing is used to dress denuded areas and permits the flow of exudate without sticking to the wound bed. It is soothing, enhances healing in burns, skin grafts skin loss and lacerated wounds. Conforms to all body contours. Nonadherent, use beneath a secondary dressing.

Indications:
Oil emulsion gauze dressing is suitable for a wide range of wounds, including burns, abrasions, lacerations, and surgical wounds. It is particularly effective for wounds that are exuding fluid, as it can absorb excess fluid while still allowing air to circulate. The dressing is also suitable for use on wounds that are difficult to dress, such as wounds on the hands or feet.

Instructions for use:
1. Carefully clean the wound and its surrounding area with sterile water or saline solution and dry the surrounding skin gently.
2. Select the right size of dressing for the wound area. Carefully open the sterile pouch to remove the dressing inside.
3. A secondary dressing is necessary when using gauze dressing. If needed, cut the tape and dressing using sterile scissors.
4. The dressing should be changed daily in heavily exudative wounds, reduced to every 3 days as the healing process proceeds. Otherwise to be changed a clinically directed. The dressing should also be removed if the dressing has completely dried.
5. Remove the dressing using tweezers or a gloved hand. Remove the dressing from the skin slowly and gently. The dressing may adhere if used on a dry wound. In this case removal of the dressing can be helped by soaking the wound with sterile saline.
Precautions:
Oil emulsion gauze dressing should not be used on wounds that are infected or heavily exuding. It should also not be used on wounds that are located in areas of high friction, such as the soles of the feet. If the wound shows signs of infection, such as redness, swelling, or pus, seek medical attention immediately.
