ASA resin, also known as AAS resin, is a ternary graft copolymer composed of acrylon itrile (A), styrene (S), and acrylic a cid ester (A). Compared to ABS, ASA resin has significantly improved weather resistance due to the introduction of acry lic acid ester rubber without double bonds replacing butadiene rubber. Its weather resistance is about 10 times higher than ABS, while its other mechanical properties, processing performance, electrical insulation, and chemical resistance are similar to ABS.
Features
Feature:
ASA has good coloring properties. Due to its excellent weather resistance, it can be dyed into various bright colors without fading easily. Products processed with ASA resin do not require surface protection such as painting or plating, and can be used directly outdoors. After exposure to sunlight for 9 to 15 months, the impact strength and elongation rate of ASA resin products hardly decrease, and the color remains almost unchanged.
Certificate of Analysis
Application
Application:
- ASA resins are commonly used in the production of outdoor products such as auto parts, outdoor furniture, and building materials such as roof tiles and siding.
- used in the production of electrical and electronic components due to its high impact strength as well as its tolerance to UV radiation and chemicals.
- used in the production of toys, sports equipment and other consumer products because of its ability to retain its color and physical properties in harsh outdoor environments.
- It is used for general prototyping in 3D printing, where its UV resistance and mechanical properties make it an excellent material for use in fused filament fabrication printers
