Chlorinated Rubber is An odorless, pale yellow resin prepared by adding up to 65% chlorine to an elastomer, such as natural rubber, butyl rubber, or styrene-butadiene. It has increased hardness and decreased reactivity with most chemicals, making it ideal for use as a protective barrier against corrosion on metal surfaces.Chlorinated rubber produces a hard tough, glossy film. It is used primarily in the for paints, varnishes, adhesives, inks and paper coatings. Chlorinated rubber is also used for waterproof paints on floors and swimming pools. It is very resistant to chemicals and moisture.
